i long for a morning where i can awaken and not immediately hear construction, power tools, leaf-blowers, lawnmowers, and simply hear the birds greeting Sunrise.

mom's 98th birthday

 if only.

 one hawk plus many tears drive to work. emotional day. a few Peepers on the drive home.

 two kestral drive to work. Spring peepers and a rabbit drive home.

 saw the blue heron at the pond again, plus one kestral, on the drive to work.

impromptu road trip on the vernal equinox

 went to Haymarket Museum to see the Thoroughfare Exhibit, but found the museum closed! the brewery i had planned to visit after would not yet be open, and i did not want to go back home so...ROAD TRIP! very randomly drove until i headed for Marshall to visit Red Truck Bakery. got a Guinness cake & focaccia. then, headed to Berryville to visit new brewery Chilly Hollow. enjoyed that very much, especially the part where i drove along side the Shenandoah. on the drive home, stopped by Quattro Goombas and had another good time. beautiful. fun day. 2 kestral, 1 hawk, 2 Merganser ducks.

remembering why i try to do this

 two ring-neck pheasants, two robins, a vulture and many crows. warm but windy, quintessential pre-Spring. visit to Ocelot, delightful. home, trying to woo Greylin-cat into letting me pet him, so close. remember the beauty even while experiencing the horror.

enjoyed the warm weather by battling the wisteria in the front yard yet again. made progress, but bled for it! 

 a satisfying day off. visit to Ocelot, music, reading and enjoying the Spring-like weather.

 on the drive to work, a blue heron spotted! very exciting, so lovely.

 beautiful rain almost all day. alas, work today, but a few good encounters with people.

dream segment

 there are spotted lantern flies in each of my houseplants, as i walk by each plant, the flies descend to the floor, i am horrified and plan to circle back to somehow get rid of them

having a rough day today. self-loathing and fear. the wind has lessened some, and it is again cold.

crocus are blooming

 the day has moved into heavy wind & i have the woodstove blazing and the kitchen door open & i am reading and trying to find some sort of peace of mind.
