no title, or, pick it back up

I notice big blooms on tomato plants and other small victories to celebrate while even more rain falls.

 pleased that i told work i wanted to come in at 5 today, instead of 3. i enjoyed the gorgeous puffy cloud blue sky day, doing small things around the house. mowing, and plopping the mulch in the vegetable garden! reading and thinking.

 today is all blue skies and brisk breezes.

remarkable

while driving to work, i am thinking how i have lost myself as a person, lost touch with my center. how i am not able to get things done. i go to work, yes, but is that all? where is my joy and creativity? reading, yes. visiting a brewery. the vegetable garden. but there is a hollowness that i cannot climb out of, that i want very much to heal.

and then, a wild thing happened when i got to work. a surprising thing. i found myself in a fantastic mood, filled with happiness and jokes and some giddy joy i was pleased to share with those i encountered. one of whom was poet Michele E. i had just started reading her new collection Purl this morning, and brought it with me to read if i had a chance. she signed it for me, with a personal note. i vibrated with excitement. 

when pulling into the driveway coming home from work, there was a possum! i stopped so she could do her thing, telling her how lovely she is. Greylin was also peeking up out of the culvert by the mailbox, LOL cute, silly boy. i told him to come on up and get his dinner.

 in an absolutely amazing event today, something went right.

perfect day off

 Lorraine came to visit today!! Four hours of wonderful conversation. Felt so incredibly good.

a rough day

 woke just before 3:00 a.m. to pee, and after getting back into bed felt profound fear pertaining to what is happening in this country. finally got back to sleep, but since i woke up i have been dealing with persistent self-loathing.

 see Altair, Deneb, Lyra & Vega. the Moon!! all in the early a.m. before leaving for work. when off i drive towards Warrenton to visit the bookstore, but traffic is heavy and it really ruins the mood, so i bail off onto Beverlys Mill road and smile. much better! just a gorgeous day! home to cats and being outside just enjoying the breeze and sunshine.

vacation day #6

chilly and overcast. went to Ocelot for their anniversary party, but there were so many people packed in there, i did not stay. very glad the event looks like a successful one!!

 cold and rainy. i have no focus today. decided to watch season 5 of Handmaid's Tale, to catch up.

 overcast and chilly, do some reading then head to Ocelot for a couple of pints. home to soup and more reading. lazy day.

 awaken, and step outside to greet the day. sunshine! and a bluebird!

vacation day #2

 sunshine, and so much wind, so very windy! get laundry done, then off to Ocelot, it's their 10 year anniversary week, and they are doing daily beer releases, so exciting.

vacation day #1

 rain, heavy rain and colder temperatures. a perfect day for reading. fire in the woodstove, and a pot of soup on the stove. Panther yelling for treats and Tyga trying to steal my sandwich. 

discord and unity

 emotional work day of butting heads with customers and co-workers. some tears and some laughter. a couple of good connections with "regulars", much appreciated. ended well. some Peepers on the drive home even with the falling temperature.

 i long for a morning where i can awaken and not immediately hear construction, power tools, leaf-blowers, lawnmowers, and simply hear the birds greeting Sunrise.
