how Moon

     clouds, yes

but

not yet risen

pull still

pull hopefulness

possibility

resolve

 i have a narrative

a narrative of/fear/

     and loss of

self esteem

a narrative of

     heartbeat shaking

cold anxiety - it is

a narrative often i am

     compelled

to share/but often i am

tired

tired of hearing myself

just break through!

but here/nine years later

this narrative 

still exists

clouds disperse/in the distance

the thunder rolls

birds give voice

 to the sweetness  

that is now

Verb: to remember

I am of this World, of this Earth. I breathe this air as i look at this sky, these clouds. This world is not out to get me. I am safe and grounded as my feet touch this soil. Even as i am driving, i am realizing this, as incongruous as that may seem. I see a hawk. I see the Crescent Moon rising. I am home.

the vast stretch of city lights on
the horizon
forms an unnerving necklace
for the
rising
orange Moon

this is not a "dream" post

i can tell that i am still depressed
when i don't have the energy
to write
even though
my last dream was very detail-rich
and interesting

i'm looking at you, Hanif

when you read an
astounding
poet
and all of your subsequent thoughts
are in
lyrical cadence/
it is the inspiration that
centers you
