Deadly Feasts by Richard Rhodes, 1997.....this was a very interesting and somewhat nauseating read...the search for the agent that drives kuru, CJD and BSE...brings to mind the recent occurrences of people who work at pig slaughtering plants in the "head" room getting extremely sick because of aerosolized pig brains...one "fun" thing about this book is Rhodes referencing Kurt Vonnegut's book "Cat's Cradle", and mentioning a conversation he had with Vonnegut...
